WHY LOVE ANIMALS? Because they give everything without asking for anything in return. Because they are defenseless against the power of humans, who have weapons.
Because they are eternal children, because they know nothing of hatred... or war. Because they know nothing of money and are content with just a roof to shelter them from the cold. Because they communicate without words, because their gaze is as pure as their soul.Because they know nothing of envy or resentment, because forgiveness comes naturally to them. Because they know how to love with loyalty and fidelity.Because they give life without going to a luxurious clinic. Because they do not buy love, they simply wait for it, and because they are our companions, eternal friends who never betray us. And because they are alive.For this and a thousand other reasons... they deserve our love! If we learn to love them as they deserve... we will be closer to God. Mother Teresa of Calcutta
