Nowadays, traveling on a cruise ship with your dog is becoming increasingly popular among tourists. And the Queen Mary 2 is the only cruise ship that allows passengers to bring their pets on board.
With a capacity of 2,620 people, it is one of the most luxurious and longest ships in the world. Famous people, such as Elizabeth Taylor, have sailed with their pets aboard the QM2.
The "Pets on Deck" program, approved by Cunard, includes a range of equipment and services tailored to pets. To this end, a welcome pack is offered to each four-legged passenger traveling on board the cruise ship. This pack contains a personalized tag, a treat, a food bowl, as well as a free portrait of the animals with their humans.
Since the QM2 sails in international waters, certain rules must be followed. Among them, pets are not allowed in the cabins. The animals stay and sleep in temperature-controlled "designated areas" on the Sun Deck.
In addition, the animals are cared for and attended to 24 hours a day by crew members who are dedicated exclusively to them. They supervise the preparation of meals and the exercises that must be performed for each animal. The dogs, for example, have their own exercise area on the deck. And to ensure the animals' comfort, the beds are extremely comfortable and the blankets are made of fleece. The gourmet biscuits are fresh and baked daily. In addition, each dog will receive an assortment of toys. As for cats, they will have a scratching post at their disposal.
This cruise is not for everyone's budget. Prices per dog range from $500 to $1,000 per dog. For cats, prices range from $1,000 to $1,600.
