Plans and Getaways
Are you planning a rural getaway with your pet? Have you heard of the Alto Gallego region? Alto Gallego is a region located in the north of Aragon that occupies practically the entire upper course of the Gallego River. It is an ideal destination for a getaway, to disconnect and escape the daily routine, and to walk among mountains and forests with our canine companions.
Following the recommendations of Pirineos- Comarca del Alto Gallego, this article brings you 10 routes where your dogs can have fun, run around, and sniff out the trails in this beautiful area. There are specific areas where you can take them and let them off the leash so they can run around and play with their favorite toys, but there are also many paths where you can enjoy walking with them. But first, we want to highlight some travel tips:
1- If you go hiking with your dog, never forget to bring water and food. One tip is to get your furry friend used to drinking and eating from a bottle. This way, you won't waste as much water and it won't take up as much space as a bowl! If you don't have a portable bottle for your excursions, we recommend this one, which is 3-in-1 and available in our Online Store.
2-Make sure your dog is protected against parasites and mosquitoes. Don't forget to bring your pet's documentation and locate the nearest 24-hour vet.
3- When choosing a route, we must take into account our dog's physical endurance and age. If your dog is not used to walking many miles, it is better to gradually increase the level of difficulty.
4- If you are going to be away from home for more than one night, we recommend that you take atravel bag for your dog. This way, you can keep all their documents and accessories organized and safe: food, towel, brush, favorite toy, treats, their bed, etc...
If your dog doesn't have its own travel bag yet and you'd like to get one, you can do so at our online store. It is ideal for storing and transporting your pet's belongings and also comes with accessories included: two moisture-proof food storage containers and two collapsible water bowls.
