Plans and Getaways
Isla Cristina could become a mecca for pet lovers following the opening of its second dog beach, making it the first municipality in Huelva, and one of the few in the whole country, to have two dog beaches.

The first dog beach is located in the La Gola area, next to the island's town center. This second, recently inaugurated beach is located on the almost untouched Icona-Pesmar beach, several kilometers away from the main town center. It is one of the most unspoiled stretches of beach in the area and has its own access and shower facilities.
The new dog beach on the island, which has a linear extension of 500 meters of shore and extensive sand, is located between the well-known beaches of La Redondela and La Casita Azul, and has its own access and walkways.
The mayor of Isla Cristina, Jenaro Orta, has asked users to act 'responsibly' in caring for and maintaining the new dog beach, and has highlighted the 'significant investment' made by the City Council in developing the beach.
