Dog Beaches
A new beach for our canine friends in Vilanova i la Geltrú! From May 1, the wait will be over: the beach at Faro de Sant Cristófol will be transformed into a dog-friendly space!
A special, enclosed, and exclusive space for those of us who want to enjoy the sun and sea in the company of our dogs.
Located at the southern end of the Sant Cristófol Lighthouse beach, next to the Piera stream, this enclosed space of approximately 2,000 m² offers exclusive access for four-legged beachgoers. The added bonus? An 80-meter-long, 2-meter-high fence ensures fun and safety for everyone.
But what about the rules? The City Council has established regulations to ensure harmony among all visitors, humans and dogs alike. From microchipping dogs to the obligation to pick up after them immediately, each regulation is focused on maintaining harmony and cleanliness in this new space.
And for those with furry companions of breeds considered 'potentially dangerous', there are additional guidelines to follow, including the mandatory use of a muzzle and a GPP ownership and handling license.
But this is not the first time that Vilanova i la Geltrú has set up a dog beach. In the summer of 2014, the city had a dog beach in the Aiguadolc area, between Sant Gervasi beach and the rocky area of Santa Llucia. However, due to frequent arguments among beachgoers, it had to be closed.
Now, after 10 years, we have a new opportunity! Remember that this dog area will have a maximum capacity of 200 people and 150 dogs, with opening hours from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Get your umbrella and your dog's leash ready! Starting May 1, the Sant Cristófol Lighthouse beach in Vilanova i la Geltrú awaits you for unforgettable moments with your dog.
