Valencia is a unique and lively city that not only offers wonderful activities for humans, but also for those who enjoy the company of their dog. Some parks, beaches, and welcoming restaurants are ready to welcome your pet with open arms.

In this guide, we suggest 11 plans to enjoy with your dog and a selection of pet-friendly restaurants that you will love.

Top 11 plans in Valencia with a dog

1. Turia Park

Turia Park is one of the largest green spaces in Valencia, and it is ideal for enjoying a day outdoors with your dog. This extensive park, which follows the old riverbed, offers wide areas for walking, running, and relaxing. Additionally, it has specific areas where dogs can play off-leash.

Furthermore, in section 4 of the Turia Garden, right next to the Bridge of the Arts, you will find a fantastic public Agility course, designed so your dog can enjoy a complete physical activity while having fun.

2. Walking through the center of Valencia

The center of Valencia is a perfect place to walk with your dog and enjoy its rich history, architecture, and vibrant atmosphere. The route through the old town offers pedestrian streets and wide squares, making walking with your pet comfortable and pleasant.

3. Walk along the Albufera of Valencia

The Albufera of Valencia is a natural wetland where you can go hiking with your dog along the paths surrounding the lagoon. The route is quiet and features impressive landscapes. Your dog will enjoy nature while you enjoy the local fauna and flora.

4. Cabecera Park

Cabecera Park, located in the westernmost part of the old Turia riverbed, is a perfect place for a relaxing walk with your dog. This park has large grassy areas and trails that allow you to enjoy a pleasant stroll with your pet.

5. Malvarrosa Promenade

The Malvarrosa Promenade is ideal for a quiet walk with your dog at sunset. The beach itself does not allow dogs during high season, but the promenade is long and spacious, perfect for a relaxed walk with your pet while enjoying the sea views.

6. El Saler Natural Park

This is an idyllic place to walk with your dog, especially in spring and autumn when temperatures are more pleasant. It has marked routes that cross dunes and forests. Additionally, near the park is Playa del Saler, known for being pet-friendly.

7. Walk through Colon Market

The Colon Market is one of the most emblematic buildings in Valencia, and the best part is that it is pet-friendly! However, you must always keep your pet on a leash. Here you can enjoy a wide gastronomic offer including cafés and breweries, horchaterías, lounge bars, and Mediterranean, Asian, and other restaurants.

8. Júcar River (Alzira)

Just a few kilometers from Valencia, the Júcar River offers routes along its banks, perfect for a getaway with your dog. This river allows you to enjoy nature just minutes from the city and is ideal for a quiet walk in a rural setting.

9. Walk through the City of Arts and Sciences

The City of Arts and Sciences is one of the most iconic places in Valencia. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed inside. However, it is possible to take a nice walk around the surroundings to enjoy this architectural masterpiece.

10. Central Park of Valencia

With a dog area of 1,382 square meters, Central Park is a gem for dog walks. It is one of the newest parks in the city. It features wide green areas, fountains, and a quiet atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a sunny day in Valencia with your dog.

11. Pinedo Beach (Dog Zone)

At Pinedo Beach, your dog is welcome in the dog zone of 9,900 square meters specially enabled for them. This area is located near the port and is clearly delimited and signposted during the official season, which starts in mid-June and extends until mid-September, with hours from 09:30 to 19:30. Outside this period, access with dogs and bathing are not allowed.

The beach is wide and pleasant, with clean water, and on less crowded days, dogs can run around happily and enjoy the space. However, on weekends it can get quite crowded.
