Plans and Getaways

The Veterinary Faculty of the Complutense University of Madrid is launching exercise classes for dogs at "anti-crisis" prices. Pets of all breeds can attend these classes to learn how to relax and "channel" their energy.

The low-cost gym for dogs is a pioneering initiative in Spain launched by the Complutense University's Canine Sports Club. Classes will be held in the Canine Pavilion of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and will last one hour per week. The price is €30 for a full course.

To attend the classes, dogs must be accompanied by an adult, as the exercises must be done together to improve the relationship, communication, and strengthen the bond between them.

The classes will be taught by two instructors certified in Canine Education by the Complutense University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and specialized in ethology.

Classes will be given to groups of six to eight dogs each and are open to dogs of all breeds and ages, with the exception of puppies under seven months old and animals that are "potentially dangerous or have aggression issues," which in that case must first attend the animal behavior clinic at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.{jcomments on}
