Before venturing out into the snow with your furry friends, keep in mind a few precautions so that your plan doesn't turn into a trip to the vet. Here are some TIPS:
Protect them from the cold; not all breeds are equally adapted to cold weather. A Husky can spend hours in the snow without flinching, but a Greyhound could have a very hard time if they are not properly dressed. Prepare their paws, as the cold and moisture from the snow can easily damage your dog's paw pads, causing them to crack and leading to chafing and frostbite. Be careful with avalanches, as a loose dog can cause an unexpected avalanche.
