Tips for going to the beach with your dog
· The beach bag — 9 essentials!
Prepare the beach bag for your dog. In it, don't forget to bring water, food in a moisture-proof container, a towel, a hairbrush, treats, and sunscreen. Also bring some toys: floating ones are ideal for playing in the water.
Don't forget the bags to pick up their waste! Keeping everything clean so that other people and other dogs can enjoy the beach is everyone's responsibility.
· Protect him from the sun!
If you are going to spend many hours at the beach, make sure to bring an umbrella or some type of shelter to protect your dog from the sun's rays and the heat. Remember that dogs are much more sensitive to high temperatures, so they need a shaded area to rest. If they have sensitive paws, a pad protector is also recommended.
· Good hydration
Fresh drinking water should never be missing in a water bowl to prevent dehydration. It is very important to keep him well hydrated throughout the day. It is essential that we go to the beach with a portable water and food bowl, which we will need to constantly refill with fresh water so that the dog does not suffer from heatstroke.
· Beach watchers
Don't get distracted! Dogs are like children and require special attention most of the time. To avoid possible accidents, disturbances to other bathers, fights between dogs, and the occasional forgotten poop in the sand due to carelessness, we should not take our eyes off our dog most of the time.
Avoid going to the beach during the strongest sun hours (between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.).
For the dog to bathe, choose an area with shallow water and no currents. Even so, pay close attention, especially if there are jellyfish or sea urchins on the beach. Also, if the sea conditions are not safe (the danger flags will tell you), it's better to go to the beach another day, especially if your dog is one of those who wants to swim as soon as they see the water.
