Dog Beaches
In summer, many of us choose to enjoy a sun and beach vacation with our dog. And when we think of a vacation, we think of destinations where the whole family is welcome and we can enjoy ourselves to the fullest.
La Rubina Beach was the first official dog beach in Spain. It is located in Castelló d'Empúries, in Empuriabrava, south of Roses and very close to the Cap de Creus Natural Park. It is a natural beach with fine sand. It forms part of the Aiguamolls del Empordà Natural Park and is one of the most highly rated dog-friendly beaches.
Playa Rec del Molí is a small, semi-urban cove located very close to the town of l´Escala. It is about 370 meters long and has fine, golden sand. The waves are moderate. Sometimes its waters can be a little murky due to the organic material carried by the Rec del Molí itself.
This is a small 300-meter beach located in Les Timbes. It is called Playa de la Platjola and is the only beach in the municipality of Alcanar suitable for dogs. The environmental and ecological value of this area is high, which is why this dog beach in Alcanar has the distinction of being a virgin beach.
-Camping Estanyet located 200 meters from the dog beach in Alcanar, has special showers for dogs and a free bag dispenser for your pet's needs. Its location on the beachfront will allow you to easily take your dog for walks. This family-friendly campsite is located on the beachfront, at the end of the Les Cases d'Alcanar (Tarragona) promenade, with 14 km of unspoiled beaches where you can enjoy the natural surroundings and tranquility of Terres de l'Ebre.
Bon Caponet Beach was the first beach in the province of Tarragona to allow dogs. It is a small cove located in the town of Ametlla de Mar and consists of stones and a small amount of sand. It is cleaned daily.
Riera d'Alforja Beach is a stretch of coastline located next to the mouth of the Riera d'Alforja, between Paseo de las Palmeras and a small oasis of vegetation. It has a shower for dogs and another for swimmers, with a wooden fence delimiting the dog area.
This is a small enclosed area located between the beaches of Poblenou and La Riera, opposite two campsites: Camping Bellsol and Camping Caballo de Mar. It is enclosed by a wooden fence and equipped with trash cans and bags for animal waste. The new facility has showers and specific rules to ensure proper use and peaceful coexistence. It is open 365 days a year, with no time restrictions, and is freely accessible to all.
The dog beach in Santa Pola is a small cove called Caleta dels Gossets, part of the Calas del Cuartel group of coves, located next to the Cabo de Santa Pola Natural Park.

In 2016, Altea Town Council allowed dogs to be taken to the beach at La Olla, between Villa Gadea and the port of Mar y Montaña.
It is a clean, semi-wild beach with gentle waves and good diving conditions.
By the way, if you come by car, you can find parking in Villa Gadea, either in the hotel parking lot or on the way down to the estate, which has two small parking spaces. In the middle of summer and at peak times, it's not easy, of course.

The Dog Beach in Agua Amarga is a 250-meter stretch of beach in Agua Amarga, between Alicante and Urbanova.
It is a dog-friendly beach that has all the necessary services so that you and your pet can enjoy a wonderful, relaxing time during the summer season.
This dog beach in Alicante has hooks, adapted umbrellas, specific trash cans, and platforms with disposable containers to use as food and water bowls. You will also find a kiosk that sells refreshments and food for our dogs.
The Dog Beach in Pinedo Valencia, is one of the latest beaches to open in the Valencian Community. It is located south of the city of Valencia and is a small enclosed area, the closest to the city's port.
This beach is only available during the summer season, from June 15 to August 30, when beach services (lifeguards, umbrellas, etc.) are in place. Dogs are not allowed the rest of the year.
In Vinarós, you will find two dog-friendly beaches: Playa Aiguaoliva and Playa de Les Llanetes, located near the Sòl de Riu Natural Park on the north coast of the town.
Vinarós is a seaside town that has grown up alongside the sea and stands as the gateway to the Valencian Community. We have found two GUAU accommodations where you can stay with your dog.
-Hotel RH Vinaròs Playa has direct access to Clot Beach via a pedestrian street just 4 minutes away, which is ideal for families due to its shallow waters. It offers a pet kit! This includes a food bowl, water bowl, welcome treats, and a map showing how to get to Can de Aiguaoliva Beach.
La playa de El Barranquet cuenta con un arenal de trescientos metros de longitud compuesto por arena fina y dorada. Además, aquí no encontraremos piedras ni grandes rocas escarpadas, por lo que no tendremos que preocuparnos por que nuestros peludos amigos se hagan daño en sus patas.
Además, tampoco cuenta con un horario específico en el que puedas acudir con perros, por lo que podrás disfrutar de ella junto a la mejor compañía siempre que quieras. En cambio, no cuenta prácticamente con ningún servicio, por lo que todo lo que necesites para ti y tu peludo acompañante tendrás que traerlo desde casa.
Esta playa urbana se encuentra junto a la desembocadura del río que lleva el mismo nombre de la playa y cuenta con máquinas dispensadoras de bolsas y varias papeleras para que podamos recoger los excrementos de nuestras mascotas y mantener la playa limpia. De esta forma, todos los usuarios puedan disfrutar de ella en las mejores condiciones.

The two beaches where we can take our dogs are O Espiño Beach and Portiño Beach, next to each other, in the parish of San Vicente, in the southern part of the peninsula, near the yacht club.

In O´Grove, we also recommend the Hotel SPA Bosque Mar, located near Canina Beach. This hotel has a wonderful garden, two swimming pools with hydromassage, a jacuzzi, and one of the most prestigious restaurants in Galicia.
Playón de Bayas has a total length of almost 3 kilometers, making it the longest sandy beach in Asturias. The beach is divided into two halves, with the left side for dogs and the right side for humans only.

Espigón Dog Beach is located in the city of Huelva. It is a very long beach, more than three kilometers long, and it extends into the natural area of the Odiel Marshes.
-At the beach, don't forget to bring a sunshade for your dog, especially if they have white fur or a pink nose, as they are more susceptible to sunlight.
-On the other hand, it is very important to keep them well hydrated throughout the day. It is essential that we go to the beach with a portable water bowl and food bowl,a>which we will have to constantly refill with cool water so that the dog does not suffer from heatstroke.
-Before returning home, remove the sea salt with a shower so that their skin does not dry out.
